In the first-of-its-kind course at Elizabethtown College, students studied artistic peacebuilding through the painting of a piano.
With generous support from a Mellon Grant, Professors Jon Rudy and Kevin Shorner-Johnson launched an undergraduate Artistic #Peacebuilding class at Elizabethtown College. As a means of exploring the impact of collaborative art making on the transformation of space, the class turned a piano into an art object. Under the artistic direction Grace Hardy, a Freshman at Elizabethtown College, students collaborated together on a design of flowers and peace messaging to prepare the campus for the upcoming Ware Lecture on Peacemaking. View their beautiful transformation of a piano below!
